Difficulty Level DL

Sometimes it is required to give a difficulty level DL for the determination of a Skill Level or Attribute Test. The gamemaster must give a DL for a task. The task is solved successfully if the character rolls \( \leq \)50+ (applicable % or attribute) - DL.

Example:
A character wants to enter a computer system. He has got a Computer Hacking % of 58. The gamemaster says, that it is a ``gifted task'' with a DL of 55. So the character needs to roll \( \leq \)50+58-55=53 to be successful.
Example:
A character wants to spot a hidden character. His VIS attribute is 35. The gamemaster gives this task a DL of 30 (average to above average). The character must roll \( \leq \) 50+35-30=55 to spot the hidden guy.

DL Description Example
-30 to 0 dull task walking, eating
0 very easy task simple operations
0 to 10 easy to task solving problems
10 to 20 average task swimming, climbing
30 to 40 above average task computer operations
50 to 60 hard task mathematics
60 to 70 gifted task nuclear physics
80 to 90 superhuman task
90 to 100 impossible
100 and more ``god-like''
